New media continuously foster creativity in societies by breaking communication barriers, thus increases global communication. Individuals are now able to easily express their imagination to others in various ways and thus in modern society we constant see innovation in unique ways. One example is YouTube, and how people use it to creatively to express their imagination visually to the world. In his article Brook Barnes “Disney Tolerates a Rap Parody of Its Critters. But Why?” provides a great example of how new media fosters creativity. Barnes talks about “YouTube videos that turn Bambi, Simba, and Winnie the Pooh into rap stars? YouTube users started posting the videos, set to “Crank That ( Soulja Boy)” by the rapper Soulja Boy”. Basically, YouTube users were fusing two elements into one. This is amazing because creatively combining old cartoons with modern rap videos is a perfect example of what the new media has allowed us to do. Ultimately, the new media foster creativity in society, by giving people the ability to manifest their ideas digitally to the world, which influence others into innovating.
